A Boy and His Kite

Today is a good day. I just downloaded the newly released debut album from A Boy & His Kite (Dave Wilton).  Already, I know this will be one my favorite albums of the year.  I can confidently say that I would own this record even if Dave was not a dear friend of mine.  However, I am fortunate to have the gift of his friendship as well as the gift of his music.  I am a better man for it.

As I write this, I am listening to the album for the first time.  I can already tell the music is a nearly exact embodiment of who Dave is as a person.

Gentle. Humble. Understated. Fresh. Sincere. Creative. Peaceful.

The musical stylings are an eclectic mash of indie rock and folk that build into full orchestration. For fans of Sleeping At Last, Bon Iver, & Josh Garrels.

This last week, A Boy & His Kite had a breakthrough song called “Cover Your Tracks” which was included on the latest Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2 soundtrack.  A beautiful song that has an indie flavor – setting itself apart from all other tracks on the album.

Do yourself a favor.  Go download A Boy & His Kite right now.
